Let me start by saying, we are all part of nature.
Man is an animal, and so are our pets. Our pets may feel closer and embodies nature more than we do. With that said, they care about the ecosystem and keeping the balance in nature.
Notice how our animals, no matter how domesticated they may be, will still succumb to their natural instincts. When they aren't fixed, they will roam to find their mate. Cats, when doors are closed, they feel trapped; Dogs when not allowed to sniff, they feel betrayed.
Here are some reasons why eco-friendliness and sustainable lifestyle are important to our furry friends:
They are deeply connected to natural cycles
Animals live attuned to daylight, seasons, temperature, and the earth’s rhythms.
They feel environmental changes more immediately than humans.
Subtle pollution in air, water, or sound affects them quickly. Shifts in climate disrupt their routines, rest cycles, and instincts.
To animals, environmental imbalance is not abstract—it’s felt.
Their physical bodies are more vulnerable to toxins
Many animals have sensitive respiratory systems, heightened smell, or delicate skin. Hypersensitive ones are even affected by EMF and Wifi and radio signals.
Chemical cleaners, pesticides, synthetic fragrances disrupt our hormones, and theirs as well. These creates imbalances in their body and causes stress, illness or confusion.
Even the cosmetics we choose affect them. Think of the body lotion that you just applied and still linger on your skin--when you cuddle them, minute portions transfer onto their furs and skin.

To some extent, depending on your usage and concentration, essential oils may also be harmful to them; hence, they gravitate toward cleaner, safer, more natural environments.
They value energetic harmony
From an energetic or intuitive standpoint, animals become desensitized by too much clutter. Plastic waste, clutter, chemical smells, and artificial items often feel “heavy” or “noisy” in their energetic field.
They prefer more natural materials (wood, plants, stones). These provide a more grounding and peaceful ambiance supportive of rest and recovery.
When their humans adopt sustainable and mindful lifestyles, stress tends to decrease, spaces become calmer, and the home feels lighter and more intentional. Practice decluttering to also help your pets energetically.
Our animals pick up on these emotional and energetic shifts. They prefer what supports harmony and balance in their space.
They are guardians of the earth in their own way
Animals are our lifelines to energetic healing and shifts. Notice how more pet owners describe having their pets to be life changing, influencing personality for the better and generally makes them better people?
This is because animals relate as Earth-healers. They are guardians of energy flow at home and in the wild. They are keepers of harmony and balance in nature. They naturally encourage humans to care for their shared home together.
My soul cat once influenced me to buy a cactus bowl arrangement. I'm not a lover of cacti because I can't seem to relate to them, but I wondered why I was just drawn to buying one at that time. After reaching out to an animal communicator (I wasn't one yet by then), she confirms that my cat wanted me to get one for the room.
They experience joy in “wildness” and natural elements
Our animals find that they are most at home when surrounded by the elements of nature: Wind, Sunlight, Grass, Water, Soil, Stones, Trees. Because these are elements of nature, these also have their own energetic fields. Being in this field of energy is bliss for them. These are the energy that induce recovery and replenishing of natural bodily electricity.

Even for our domesticated animals, no matter how frantic they are about leaving the comfort of their home, connecting with nature is of utmost importance.
A year before my soul cat transitioned, she influenced me to go on a vacation, taking her with me. I carried her up multiple steps to see a temple, and even at the beach to experience the power and energy of nature. She knew how my energy field was so depleted by everyday life.
They embody balance, simplicity and respect
Nature is all about respect. Being eco-friendly means showing Mother Nature that we respect her in all of the ways she supports our lives. Understanding that our carbon footprint matters not only to us, our offsprings, our animals and even the sky, we can finally show Mother Nature that we recognize we are all part of her too.
Choose the products that are made with the thought and idea that the future is all about giving back and living simply, so that others can simply live.
They see themselves as part of a shared ecosystem
Unlike humans, animals don’t see themselves as separate from the environment.
They are part of a network—and what harms one part harms all. Our animals know when there's a group of suffering lives nearby. They feel distressed when nature is distressed and undergoing some purging.
In the wildlife, you see this when species of opposite roles tend to help each other. It's because they understand balance and being part of the web of life--unity of all sentient beings.
